A police officer eventually found the man, Jaime R. Aune, unsuccessfully attempting to pull out of another ditch in the 26000 block of Dover Line Road while his rear wheels spun uncontrollably, a damaged tire flung rubber and smoke rose from the severely damaged front end of chi flat iron website his truck, according to his criminal complaint. on April 18, when Aune reportedly tried to pull out into traffic and hit the passenger side of a passing car.
Aune then backed up, hit the same car a second time while trying to turn around, backed up again and successfully chi flat iron passed, the complaint states.
The female driver of the car, who reported pain to her left leg and neck as well as numbness to her foot, reported seeing Aune drive past about two minutes later and turn onto El Camino Way, which quickly comes to a dead end.
Neighbors who heard a crash began following Aune as he came back out of El Camino Way, observing him drive on even though he was missing a tire and sparks were flying from the front end of his truck, the complaint states.
When an officer from the Town of Norway Police Department found Aune stuck in the ditch and tried to get him out of the car, the complaint states the officer noted that Aune was confused and "was attempting to open the door of the vehicle, turn off the vehicle and let off the accelerator all at the same time and was unable to do any of them."
The officer further noted in the complaint that it took 7 minutes to get Aune out of the car as it continued to produce smoke.
Aune also reportedly fell when getting out of the truck, forcing the officer to catch him.
The officer noted that Aune smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, and Aune was unable to complete field sobriety tests, the complaint stated.
Aune was taken to Wheaton Franciscan All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., Racine, for a blood draw, but the results are pending.
He was charged with operating while intoxicated causing injury second offense and felony hit and run causing injury, according to the complaint.
